Ranking System

We urgently need to develop a new ranking system!

I suggest what I suggested before... so, should members wanting to be the two group leaders say so, and the others vote?

Well we need someone to decide and then perhaps we can draw up a vote's table here if there is more than two candidates for a position. That way we have some communication going on both in the alliance and in the forums.

I am a likely ccandidate.... I have leadership positions in other alliances in other worlds...

I got a question (might be quite obvious):
If there will be two teams (attacks and resources), one of them should defend the other. I ask you: how would it be decided who needs more protection?
He who gather the most or the one who's more likely to lose all resources?

About ranking system: there should be 2 ranking systems.
Attack team should have ranking with the NATO Phonetic Alphabet (alfa, bravo, charlie...)
Resources should have greek alphabet (alfa, beta, gamma...)

It seems logical that the General be the leader of the military side and the Home Secretary be the leader of the economic side. Each of them have special access to see the military disposition of the alliance (the General) or the amount of goods each player has (Home Secretary). Using this information, they could govern their wings more effectively that an arbitrary member of the alliance.

I've seen a military system based on companies work well. Companies could be arranged by proximity or time zone/times online. Appoint a leader to each company who reports to the General. We could even use Romanesque military rankings for each company (in keeping with the Greco-Roman theme of the game).

But I really think that the General should preside over the military side and the Home Sec over the economic side. It's really the only way that makes sense.

The thing is... Will the Leader give away the Home sec rank? Also... we should make teams for the alliance based on what times they are online... So we allways have someone online, or allmost allways...

I have thought of a plan somewat similar to those of yours

It is like this :

Two Groups : Military Wing and Development Wing

Military wing has two sub-divisions : Offensive and Defensive sections
Head of the Military Wing will be general and Development wing will be Interior Minister

And the Military wing will have two more Factional Leaders1) the Defense Minister who will be heading the Defensive section of the military wing 2)Combat Trainer who will train then on how to fight........But both the offensive and defensive military wing will be under the General

As for the development wing Interior Minister will be the head as I said before and the Home Secretary will be the wise president of the wing!

@ mmaatt1 : In my past game experience I have never given away my Home Secretary Rank to anyone so far.......but will give it off If I find someone so much able to hold the rank!

Now you guys tell me what do you think about this type of Ranking System?

I, somehow, agree with Clement. Military should be arrange by companies defending by proximity. And I really think the NATO phonetical alphabet should be good, but im open for suggestions.

My friend will be joining us soon after his final examz are over......
Trust me he is really good with arms and don't worry he is not ghostfreak!

So you just said that we SHOULD be worried if the general IS gosthfreak? xD

yea kinda because ghostfreak is not very good at arms!

Back to the topic.... Ranking system: should it be based on general points or on player's skills?

Players skills experience and of course generals matters but skill and experience first!

And... how do you measure player's skills and experience?

so... you got a pretty good idea of who should be on either team of existing members? What about new members? Are you going to set them on hold for a week or so and then put on the team you think he/she fits? Or just gonna ask where he/she wants to go?

But obviously all players under 50K or even 100K will be in developing wing!

Truly... And how will the Developing Wing's rankig be?

I still think that the head of the Development Wing should be the Home Secretary. Besides setting ranks, etc., the Home Sec sees all the resources of every player. It's very eye-opening sometimes to see low-score players hording resources and not building. I think the Interior Minister would need such info.

I'm intrigued by the idea of an offensive and defensive side to the Military Wing. Has anyone seen this work well? How does it work during wartime?

It does......cause I had done it an year ago when I had my top 10 alliance in Zeta......but then i had to leave due to real lyf affairs!

I could lead one of the groups... I would be honored to...

Cool... Normally though...You have the militar force which defends and attacks... Just my oppinion
